First Step Counseling Center is the first center in the Arabian Gulf countries to be accredited by the International Council for Accreditation of Standards for Continuing Education and Training. It is also the first center in Kuwait to provide comprehensive assessment and intervention services for children suffering from developmental, behavioral and psychological disorders such as: autism spectrum disorder, hyperactivity and attention deficit, language delay, and other developmental disorders that children are exposed to in the early stages of life. In our keenness to be at the forefront of providing rehabilitation services, we sought to create an organized environment that includes a multidisciplinary team, including behavior analysts and technicians, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and psychologists. Through this, we aim to provide applied behavior analysis on a scientific basis for intervention, and to enhance functional skills that enable the child to rely on himself in performing his daily functions, at home, school and in the community. We also strive to provide effective and organized ways to help children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder develop faster, in line with their individual needs.
