At First Step, we believe accurate assessment is the foundation for effective programming—especially for children with autism or developmental delays. The Comprehensive Developmental Assessment aims to create a comprehensive profile of the child’s current level across various domains to ensure a personalized and effective intervention plan.
💡 What does the assessment include?
Speech and Language Evaluation
Assessing pre-linguistic skills, vocabulary, receptive and expressive language
Monitoring speech clarity, play stages, and social skills
Based on play observation, parental interviews, and daily activity analysis
Behavioral and Cognitive Assessment
Utilizing standardized behavioral checklists based on parental concerns
Screening cognitive abilities as a foundation for understanding mental functions
Using IQ tests if cognitive difficulties are suspected
Occupational Therapy Evaluation
Fine and gross motor skills assessment
Evaluation of attention, focus, sensory processing, and Picky eating.
Evaluate daily living skills based on the parents’ reports.
